I look forward to sharing my insights with you, and I welcome your thoughts as well.

Dear Colleagues, Partners and Friends,

I was thinking hard as to how I would write this post. I wouldn’t call it an inaugural post because I have posted on social media before, but in essence, this post marks the start of my journey to share my thoughts in the digital space.

This  ‘introductory’ post is a little longer than a regular one, so I hope you will bear with me.

As I have so often done, I will share with you a story; one of the many found in my book Drinking Coffee, Telling Stories and Making Money (Book II).

When I came to KL to study in 1967, I had to be very prudent with what I spent.  I managed pretty well, but I had one weakness – the movies, especially those with bullets and fists.

Most of my spare change, therefore, was spent at the cinema. This passion remained with me through the years, and even today, I watch an average of one to two movies a month.

Thanks to IT and digitalisation,  I now watch movies (and documentaries) over the internet, at any time and any place, except for the times when my grandchildren insist that I follow them to the cinema. Social media is also my go-to place for information and knowledge.

Sharing my thoughts on this versatile and interactive platform is something that I have always wanted to do, mainly because I enjoy the spontaneous engagement that the medium allows.

Over the years, I have encountered many people, younger and older than me,  with whom I have nurtured profound and inspiring relationships. Together, we have created so many memories and forged strong bonds.

Many of you have also been very encouraging and insistent that I share on social media my insights and, in some ways, wisdom garnered over the years.

It makes me very happy to tell you that I have taken up your suggestion to do so.

For those who know me, you will know that mornings are my favourite part of the day. I am usually up at 6.00 am, and accompanied by a cup of coffee, I sit in my favourite corner to pen down ideas.

I reflect on life, my purpose, and how I can help make a difference. I often think about education, an area which I am very passionate about.

Education has enabled me to discover and discern my potential. It has opened my eyes to see opportunities that have led to my various entrepreneurial and investment ventures in education, real-estate development, and health and wellness.

Now, I can pen my thoughts, encounters and experiences here. I hope to share what has and continues to inspire me and my aspirations for the future, and I look forward to reading your comments as well. Together, we can learn much from each other.

Do make some time for yourself,  even if it is just to watch or read something you enjoy.

Thank you for reading and I wish you a happy week ahead.
